SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE APSCVIR 2025 IN DA NANG

From April 25 to 27, 2025, at Ariyana Convention Center (Da Nang City), the Scientific Conference APSCVIR 2025 took place with the participation of more than 1,200 delegates, including around 600 experts and doctors from various countries and territories around the world.

The event was hosted by the Vietnamese Society of Interventional Radiology (VSIR) under the Vietnamese Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine (VSRNM), within the framework of APSCVIR’s annual scientific activities.

APSCVIR (Asia Pacific Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology) is an international organization that brings together member societies from 16 countries and territories, operating to enhance clinical practice quality, training, and research in vascular and interventional radiology across the Asia–Pacific region. The conference is held annually to promote academic exchange and professional cooperation among member countries.

 

Opening Ceremony

On the morning of April 25, the opening ceremony was held solemnly with the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan – Deputy Minister of Health, representatives of the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, leaders of the Vietnamese Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, along with professors and presidents of international specialty societies.

The keynote speeches and opening reports focused on topics such as cardiovascular intervention, interventional oncology, stroke treatment, tumor ablation, etc., reflecting the updated trends of modern medicine and highlighting VSIR’s proactive role in connecting and contributing to the regional professional forum.

In the evening, the Faculty Dinner created a warm and engaging space for expert interaction. The formal yet friendly atmosphere strengthened collaborative relationships and opened opportunities for future professional cooperation between VSIR and APSCVIR member societies.

Specialized Discussion Sessions

The second working day (April 26) featured a diverse range of scientific activities across multiple topics, including MSK – Pain Management, Portal Hypertension, Pediatric Intervention, Visceral Arterial Embolization, Brain and Spinal AVMs, Lymphatic Interventions, as well as in-depth content on MRI/CT Guided Intervention, PAD, Y-90 SIRT, and Pelvic Intervention.

Alongside the main scientific sessions were Hands-On Training programs, Teaching Point sessions, and Luncheon Symposiums organized in collaboration with industry partners such as Canon, Boston, Terumo Neuro, Merit, and others.

The day concluded with a Gala Dinner, providing networking opportunities for delegates and representatives from international societies in the region.

Conclusion and Cooperation Orientation

April 27 - the final day of the conference - focused on:

  • Summarizing scientific content and presented reports
  • Discussing technical transfer cooperation between Vietnamese institutions and APSCVIR countries
  • Orienting the development of a continuous medical education (CME) program suitable for the VSIR system in Vietnam

At the closing session, VSIR representatives emphasized the key direction for the coming period: strengthening technical standardization - enhancing training capacity - expanding professional connections, aiming to improve patient treatment outcomes in Vietnam.

Acknowledgements and Continued Commitment

The Vietnamese Society of Interventional Radiology (VSIR) sincerely thanks the professors, doctors, and experts from Vietnam and abroad for their participation and support.

The conclusion of APSCVIR 2025 helped solidify VSIR’s position within the regional interventional radiology community, while also laying the foundation for future academic, training, and professional cooperation activities.
